Protection Server K2BTools setup

Introduction

It is possible to use K2BTools with remote licenses (using a GeneXus Protection server). To request these licenses, the following steps must be followed. After performing these steps, licenses may be requested using the procedure described in Requesting K2BTools licenses.

Protection Server configuration

Follow these steps to configure the protection server.

1 - Go to the Protection Server installation directory (which is C:\Program Files\Common Files\ARTech\GXProt1 by default) and open the file “Products.reg” with a text editor. In the end of this file, add the following lines:

Lines that should be added to the Products.reg file

2 - Execute the Products.reg file.

3 - Execute the license manager.

4- To request licenses using Protection Server you must select the option Generate Authorization File, and send the file to claves@k2b.com

Local machine configuration

In each development computer, set the K2BTools’ license manager to use the Protection Server by using the option “Select Computer” -> “Remote License” and setting the name of the protection server.
