K2BTools Tutorial - Exercise 2.3: Advanced properties in forms

1 - NoSkip property

This property can be used to tell the pattern that a certain element should be placed in the same line as the previous one. Use it following these steps:

  1. Enter the K2BTrnForm instance for the “Customer” transaction.
  2. Go to the “CustomerLastName” node.

  3. Set the “NoSkip” property to “True”.

  4. Do the same for the following attributes: "CustomerPrefix", “CustomerMaritalStatus”, "CountryName", “CustomerStreetNumber”, and “CustomerApartment”.
  5. Go to "CustomerFirstName" node.
    1. Set "Description" property to "Name"
  6. Go to "CityId" node
    1. Set "Description" property to City
  7. Save and apply the pattern, see the effect in the Web Form using the "show preview" action.

2 - “Invite Message” and “Context Help Value”

These properties can be used to help the user understand which information to enter in a certain attribute. Use it following these steps:

  1. Enter the K2BTrnForm instance for the “Customer” transaction.
  2. Go to the “CustomerFirstName” attribute and set its “Invite Message” property to “Enter Name”.
  3. Go to the “CustomerDNI” attribute and set the “Contextual Help Value” to “Enter Id. Number” (quotes must be included in this case).
  4. Save the pattern instance, and execute the application.
  5. See in the generated interface the effect on the attributes, and the differences between the properties.
