Upgrading K2BTools licenses

Introduction

This document outlines the process for updating K2BTools licenses to K2BAudit 8 and K2BTools 15.

When a new major version of K2BTools is released, licenses must be updated to gain access to the newer version. This document presents a procedure that can be used to perform this update in a safe manner. The procedure differs depending on where the licenses are stored (either in each developer's local computer or on a Protection Server).

Notes:

  1. K2BTools licenses for certain major version grant access to all prior versions. For example, if a K2BTools 12 license is installed, access is granted to all versions prior to that one (11.0, 10.1, 8.0, etc) and all updates of this version (eg 12.1, 12.2, 12.3)
  2. K2BTools free edition licenses do not change when upgrading a K2BTools version (Ex: 12.1, 12.2, 12.3, 12.4)
